Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend × Melissa Moria | Sun 20 September

This September, Sanctuary Atelier joins visual artist Melissa Moria in her Rotterdam studio for the Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend.

For one weekend, artists across Rotterdam open the doors to their studios, inviting visitors in to discover their work and creative spaces.

Come by for a hands-on introduction to natural colour and create your own botanically dyed cotton bandana using plants and flowers.

Choose from a selection of natural dye materials and arrange them directly onto the fabric, creating your own composition. Your bandana is then bundled and steamed, allowing the plants to release their pigments and leave behind unexpected colours, shapes and impressions.

Every piece emerges differently, shaped by the plants, your composition and the beautiful unpredictability of natural colour.

No experience is needed, all ages are welcome, and all materials are included. The experience takes up to 1 hour, depending on your own pace.
